The Claddagh originates from Ireland and is worn as a friendship, engagement or wedding ring. It shows two hands holding a heart with a crown.
The heart symbolizes love, the hands friendship and trust and the crown fidelity.
Worn on the right hand with the heart pointing away from the wearer, it symbolizes the search for a partner. If the heart points towards the wearer, it indicates an existing love connection.
Worn on the left hand with the heart pointing towards the wearer, it is a wedding ring. The Claddagh is passed down from mother to daughter through the generations.
