The Ritterladen got its start at the medieval markets in Ronneburg, Hesse:as early as the end of the 1990s, wooden toys for little knights were offered for sale here in addition to paper crafting with children.
The range soon expanded to include Drinking Horns, mead and fruit wines.
In 1999, ritterladen.de went online. After initially shipping from the private cellar rooms in Hammersbach, the first small shipping warehouse was soon moved into: also in Hammersbach, just ten minutes away from Ronneburg Castle. in 2015, the Ritterladen moved to a larger hall in Gründau-Lieblos.
Today, Ritterladen is one of the most established medieval stores in Germany and Europe.
