A replica of an early medieval scramasax for Vikings, Franks, Saxons and Norsemen, suitable for show combat
This form of sax came into fashion among Franks, Saxons, Vikings and Scandinavians in the middle of the 6th century and was worn until the end of the 14th century.

It was mainly used as a secondary weapon and for fighting foot soldiers in the shield wall. As the Viking shield wall was too narrow to lunge with a long sword, the short and maneuverable Sax was the ideal weapon.

The handle is made of genuine stag horn and can vary in shape and color depending on availability. There is a blood groove on both sides of the blade. A wavy decoration is applied on one side.

Details:
Total length: approx. 44 cm
Blade length: approx. 26 cm
Max. Blade width: 40 mm
