The morning star was a striking weapon frequently used in the Middle Ages.

This medieval flail with three chains and rings at the end is typical of the weapons used by rebellious peasants and simple foot soldiers. In contrast to many other weapons of the Middle Ages, the flail required less technique; it was wielded primarily through brute strength. A flail could easily be converted from its agricultural use and used in battle.

Additional pieces of wood or elements studded with nails were often attached to the chains or ropes. This hand-forged version shows a higher quality finish: steel chains carry striking steel elements.

Handle length: approx. 58 cm
Chain length incl. ring: approx. 30 cm
Diameter of the 3 rings: approx. 6.5 cm
Suitable for show combat
